“Get through.” is the tagline behind the short thriller “Stucco” that deals with the struggles behind agoraphobia. Stucco is the first short film from Janina Gavankar (The Way Back, Morning Show, Blindspotting, True Blood) and Russo Schelling (Mr. Robot, The Mysteries of Laura).
“This left-of-center film is reminiscent of the slow-burn thrillers of the 70s, using practical effects to conjure the feelings we’re least proud of. This is a film about guilt, depression, and the feeling of stasis.” – SXSW
Creating practical effects is where the history of Thingergy was born and this was an opportunity to flex those muscles. Janina origionally wanted the tongue in the wall she was going ot make out with attached to another human “Walls are thick and tongues are short”. We created an origional “wall tongue” that was rigged up with pullies that two pupeteers handled behind the wall. The throne of body parts and the finger and teeth crown now lives in our show room at Thingergy.
